Welcome to our newly designed website, we hope you find what you need. If not give us a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Here is a little of what we have been doing during and since COVID… We have grown so much over the last couple of years we needed more space and better offices. We did not sit around during COVID, we worked hard and planned for the future. Our new offices are a good size to allow us to have a private office for one to one support appointments, a sensory tent with sensory equipment, a designated area for our little pre-school members for a playgroup. There is a large room for our children and teens who can hang out, learn and have fun. We also hold adult learning classes. We call this ‘The Hub’.
At The Hub we have coffee mornings twice per week where you can come along and meet some of our volunteers and committee members. Your little ones can play whilst you enjoy a cuppa and a chat. Sometimes we just need our friends around us. We are going to have a monthly quiz night to raise some funds, watch out for our advert regarding this as I can promise you they are not to be missed.
Our adult learning classes includes art, sewing, knitting, crocheting, decoupage, up- cycling, relaxation classes, fishing, orienteering and many more, keep a look out on our website to know what is going on.
We have a 16+ club, where our young people will learn many skills that will support them into their adult life. The skills include, food handling, learning hospitality skills, running a mock-tail bar, organising events and trips and so much more. We really want to invest in our members of all ages.
We will be continuing to providing support for those aged 10-13 to complete the Mayors Award, Bronze, Silver and Gold. We finished off with a lovely presentation night with the Mayor and Mayoress of South Tyneside awarding the certificates. We are keen to continue with the Duke of Edinburgh for those aged 14-25 and are currently training some volunteers to allow this to happen.
